“When we were kids, we used to go harvesting; we had our own grapes in the middle of a Merlot vineyard. There were about ten white grapevines that either went bad or were eaten by the birds. My cousin Robert and I would pick those ten vines and make our own wine with a small press. We bottled it in the old chicken coop and had just one paying customer: our grandmother. We were ten years old. That’s when we first started to understand what it really meant to grow grapes and then make wine.”
Matej Fiegl
At Fiegl, every bottle is a milestone achieved, and we let the wine speak for us. About family, history, Oslavia, and theCollio region. Of our desire to explore and look beyond the boundaries.
Since 1782, we have produced four different lines every year: Fiegl, Leopold, Villa Dugo, and other wines.
Why is the quality of FIEGL wines so high?
What type of soil is there in Oslavia?

FIEGL Line
Authentic. Original. Elegant. The FIEGL line is the one that best represents our family and its members. It speaks of uswith native and foreign grape varieties from which we produce seven white wines and three red wines. The vineyards arethose of the DOC Collio, which we cultivate and harvest by hand only, due to the difficult terrain known as Ponca, amixture of marl and sandstone rocks stratified of Eocene origin.

LEOPOLD Line
Leopold, named after Leopold Figl, the Austrian chancellor who signed the treaty between NATO and the Soviets. Ourline of wines aged in barrels or casks is dedicated to him. Elegant, complex wines that unite and bring everyone together, transcending borders.
VILLA DUGO Line
At Villa Dugo vineyards, which are part of the Friuli Isonzo and Friuli DOC, we give voice to our most important values: sincerity, respect, and sustainability. We cultivate native and international grape varieties. Thanks to the alluvial soil ofthe two DOCs, the wines are fresh and immediate. Each label is characterized by a different animal.
Other Wines
The line dedicated to our special wines, those created in situations that we will not forget: The “Meja ‘01″ passito wasborn thanks to a hail storm; the “Frizzante” after a drink with friends; the Classic Method Rosé between school desks; theRibolla Gialla Orange to break the rules of tradition. Wines born from the desire to experiment, have fun, and lookbeyond.
