Why choose the Magnum
The 1.5-litre Magnum bottle lets the wine evolve more slowly than a standard bottle.
That means greater balance, aromatic complexity and ageing potential.
Cuvée Rouge Leopold Magnum is therefore ideal for:
- special occasions
- bottles to share
- cellaring
Oslavia and ponca
The wine comes from Collio, around Oslavia, one of the finest wine areas in Friuli.
The ponca soils – layered marl and sandstone – give the wines structure, minerality and great ageing potential.
What ponca is, and why Oslavia wines are different
About the wine
Collio Rosso Cuvée Rouge Leopold Magnum is the 1.5 L version of one of the winery’s most important wines.
It is a blend of Collio red grapes vinified together to make a complex, structured and elegant wine.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are picked fully ripe and vinified together with about 12 days of maceration.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by long ageing in tonneaux and barriques, then further rest in bottle.
This gives the wine depth, complexity and finesse
